Family time is always important. We must be very focused on making sure that we spend time with the ones we love.

With the coronavirus pandemic and its challenges, taking our family out on a date helps create quality time together as well as positive memories everyone will cherish for years to come.

Quality Time With Your Children

When the Lord talks about His commandments, He presents us with a command that aims to teach us to focus on our children.

In Deuteronomy 6:6, 7, the Lord said “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

This means that we need to teach our children about the Bible in various settings and situations. But before that happens, we need to make sure that our children trust us. They need to know that they can rely on us and that we will always put them first as our priority in life.

With that in mind, there are some useful activities you can do to make sure your children know they can turn to you.  When you take your family out on a date, you let your children know that they have someone who feels they are important and special. You can count on the following activities to help you get to know your children even more.

Take Your Children To The Zoo

Family time in ZooTaking your children on a visit to the zoo may seem like a simple activity, but your children will see the time that they spent with you as a way to learn.

When you create memories with your children, they can easily see that you are interested in them all of the time. When you spend time with them at the zoo, not only will they be learning about the animals but they will also be learning about what it means to be a family.

When you take your children on a zoo visit, you can help them draw close to nature and tell them that the world is always open for learning. They can also tell their friends about it and share the blessings of God’s Creation.

How About A Nature Museum?

In some cities, you can find a nature museum where you can go with your family, and they would not have to worry too much about crowds.  This can be a great educational experience for everyone.  You can create an activity or project for your children to write a report on some of the interesting things they discovered at the museum.

Take Your Children To An Art Museum

An art museum is a good place to bond with your kids while viewing beautiful works of art that often focus on nature.  It is always fun to have a great experience with children while they discover new experiences.  When you take them to a museum, you allow them to see the beauty and the history of the world.

If your children have a certain hobby or like to do artwork, you can develop their interest by showing them how other artists work.  Creativity is a vital part of a child’s development, and showing an interest in their creativity will help encourage them.  You can explore the history of the type of artwork they like.  Talk to your children about what they want to learn more about, and you can find which museum you should visit next.

A Classical Concert

Classical concert for familiesA classical concert could be a very meaningful and memorable date that helps your children develop an interest in music.  A ballet or a classical music concert can offer amazing new experiences for the whole family.  You can enjoy the beauty of the experience too, and don’t forget to ask what they want to experience and learn more about.

If you are unsure if your children would like live theater, you can talk to them and attend some short plays.  This will help your gauge if your children are already ready for a more classical experience or maybe they are still children who want to watch an ice skating show.

Spend Your Afternoon in a Park

There are a lot of activities that you can do while you are at a park, which makes a fun family date for children of all ages. Read about outdoor activities that you can find in Creation Illustrated magazine.  Help your children explore nature while you are outdoors.  You can also teach your children the value of caring for nature while you are in the park.

We recommend that you teach your children how to ride a bike. It is a learning experience that you will enjoy sharing with them.  There are many games with a ball or frisbee you can do together at the park too.

Ride a boat if there is a river or small lake at the park or maybe go fishing.  Of course planning a picnic is a great thing to do while at a park.  No matter what you do, just being outdoors for an afternoon in a park can create memories for your children.

Give Your Children Precious Time

Family timeAt the end of the day, the important thing to remember is to give your children time. When you take your family out on a date you are not just taking them someplace, you are building a memory for them and strengthening your relationship. You are making sure that your children will have fond memories of being with you.
