Who Are We?

Creation Day 6, part 2

When God Created the Cattle

by Laurie Barcelow, D.V.M.

There were good reasons why God gave man dominion over the beasts and the cattle. He wanted our husbandry of His creatures to build meaningful understanding of how God watches over and cares for all His children.

We discover from the Creation week how God planned it all from the beginning for our own good. The current mega-pet store craze shows how many people are longing to draw close to the creatures God created and entrusted to our care.

Appreciate how each creature has its place in this worldeven Whiskers, the pet rat belonging to Travis who is the son of author and veterinarian, Laurie Barcelow (who happens to be a cat lover). These heart-touching relationships with pets encourage us to look forward to the day when "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, . . ." (Isaiah 65:25).
